Hyundai Bayon Teaser Shows Unique Rear Lighting Design

The most interesting highlight of the latest Hyundai Bayon Teaser is its rear lighting setup. The SUV’s rear section features an H-Edge lighting signature, which continues the design theme of the front end. The actual tail-lamp elements are positioned below this signature, giving the rear profile a distinct look.

The teaser also shows an integrated roof spoiler and stop lamp, a shark-fin antenna, a tailgate-mounted Hyundai logo, and Bayon badging. The placement of the slim LED lighting element above the rear bumper gives the SUV a distinct visual identity from existing Hyundai models.

The Bayon’s rear design has also been seen previously on test mules. The latest teaser further clarifies that design direction, although Hyundai has not yet officially detailed the complete lighting functionality or reverse-lamp placement.

SUV Design Gets a Completely New Look

The Bayon’s overall design is inspired by Hyundai’s latest Art of Steel design philosophy. The front section is expected to feature sleek LED DRLs, split LED headlamps, a muscular bumper, faux skid-plate treatment, and prominent cladding.

Earlier teasers also revealed 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, black wheel-arch cladding, roof rails, and flared wheel arches.

The H-Edge theme with connecting lighting elements in the rear profile attempts to give the SUV a wider appearance. The overall silhouette is not like a traditional boxy SUV and maintains a crossover-inspired stance.

Hyundai Bayon Interior and Features

Hyundai has not yet revealed the full production-spec interior, but available design information suggests a dual-screen dashboard layout. The Bayon could feature a touchscreen infotainment system with a digital driver display.

Features such as electrically adjustable seats, seat ventilation, a panoramic sunroof, leatherette upholstery, automatic climate control, an auto-dimming IRVM, and a 360-degree camera are expected in Premium variants.

Six airbags, parking sensors, and advanced driver assistance features are also expected in the Safety package. However, Hyundai has not yet fully revealed the exact variant-wise feature list.

A major technology highlight of the Bayon will be the in-built generative AI voice assistant. Hyundai India has officially confirmed that the SUV will feature a generative AI-powered voice assistant, which will provide occupants with more natural conversational interaction.

Hyundai Bayon Engine and CNG Option

Speaking of powertrain, Hyundai India has officially confirmed that the Bayon will feature Hyundai’s petrol powertrain, along with manual and IVT transmission options.

Reports suggest that the India-spec Bayon could use a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. A factory-fitted CNG option is also expected, with an underbody-mounted CNG tank. If this setup enters production, the Bayon could be Hyundai’s first model over 4 meters to offer a factory-fitted CNG powertrain.

Currently, Hyundai has not officially announced the final technical specifications and availability of the CNG powertrain.

Hyundai Bayon India Positioning

The Hyundai Bayon will be positioned between the Venue and Creta in India. With this positioning, Hyundai will introduce an additional product in the midsize SUV space.

Hyundai has already opened bookings for the Bayon, but the company’s official booking announcement did not specify a launch date.

Auto India Daily Verdict

The latest Hyundai Bayon teaser clearly shows that Hyundai is attempting to visually distinguish this SUV from its existing lineup.

H-Edge rear lighting, a split headlamp design, and a crossover-inspired silhouette give the Bayon a distinctive look. Petrol-manual/IVT powertrains have been officially confirmed, while a CNG option is currently expected.
