Triumph Bonneville 400 Reveal on October 6

Triumph has showcased four upcoming motorcycles in darkened silhouettes in its latest teaser. The company has not yet officially revealed the names or specifications of these motorcycles, but one silhouette clearly resembles a traditional Bonneville-style roadster.

Based on reports and previously spotted test mules, this motorcycle is believed to be the Bonneville 400. The remaining three silhouettes are reported to include a Street Triple-style naked motorcycle and two Tiger-style adventure motorcycles, but Triumph has not yet confirmed their exact identities.

Triumph India’s official website also announced the October 6th reveal of four new models, which the company describes as part of its 2027 motorcycle range.

Triumph Bonneville 400 Gets Traditional Retro Design

The biggest highlight of the Triumph Bonneville 400 will be its traditional Bonneville-inspired design. Test motorcycles have been spotted with a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, rounded headlamp, long mudguards, a flat bench-style seat, and a peashooter-style exhaust.

Compared to the existing Speed 400, Scrambler 400X, and Thruxton 400, the Bonneville 400’s design is significantly more classic. The bike is also expected to feature wire-spoke wheels and chrome-inspired detailing, giving it a traditional retro roadster character.

Test mules also reveal that the motorcycle’s overall size could be slightly larger than existing 400cc Triumph models. Its flat seat and relaxed riding position will give it a more traditional modern-classic motorcycle character rather than a daily roadster.

New Chassis, Telescopic Forks, and Twin Shocks

In terms of cycle parts, the Bonneville 400 will be significantly different from existing Triumph 400 motorcycles. Test prototypes have been seen with a conventional telescopic front fork with gaiters and twin rear shock absorbers.

Models like the Speed 400 and Thruxton 400 feature a USD fork and monoshock setup, but the Bonneville 400 will feature traditional hardware. This will maintain the bike’s classic appearance and could bring the riding character closer to the Bonneville family.

According to reports, the chassis, swingarm, and rear subframe are also different from the existing 400 models. Noticeable changes have been made to the rear section to accommodate a flat bench seat.

349cc Engine Expected for India

Speaking of the powertrain, the India-spec Triumph Bonneville 400 is expected to feature a 349cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This engine has been developed according to Triumph’s India-specific 350cc strategy.

This engine could be offered in different states of tune to enhance the Bonneville’s relaxed character. Earlier reports suggested figures around 29 hp and 31 Nm of output for the Speed T4, but Triumph has not yet officially confirmed the final power and torque figures.

The engine specifications of the international version may differ from the India-spec motorcycle, so it will be important to confirm the exact figures after the October 6 reveal.

Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Honda CB350 Rival

The Triumph Bonneville 400 will be positioned differently from Triumph’s existing 400cc lineup. The bike will be directly focused on traditional retro roadster buyers, where motorcycles like the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Bullet 350, and Honda CB350 are already established.

The Bonneville 400 will be an interesting product for Triumph as the Speed 400 comes with a performance-oriented roadster character, while the Bonneville 400 will prioritize heritage-inspired styling and a relaxed riding experience.

Expected pricing is also expected to be competitive around the same segment, although the official India price will only be confirmed after the October 6 reveal.

October 6 Reveal Could Confirm Key Details

The October 6 event could reveal key details regarding the Triumph Bonneville 400’s production-spec design, engine output, dimensions, features, colors, and market availability.

Triumph has not yet officially announced an India launch date and price. Current reports place the motorcycle in the late-2026 India launch window, but a final timeline will be confirmed only after the company’s official announcement.

Auto India Daily Verdict

The Triumph Bonneville 400 could bring a different flavor to the existing 400cc lineup. The traditional fuel tank, flat seat, spoke wheels, telescopic fork, and twin shocks make it visually and mechanically distinct from the Speed 400 and Thruxton 400.

Now the most important confirmation will be on October 6 regarding engine output, pricing and India launch timeline.
