Suzuki has introduced a new Matte Grey colour option for its adventure-touring motorcycle Suzuki V-Strom SX. The overall mechanical package of the bike has been kept exactly the same with the new colour, meaning there are no major updates to the engine, gearbox, cycle parts and features.
Despite the new colour option, there has been no major change in the price of the V-Strom SX either. The motorcycle will now be available in the new Matte Grey shade along with its existing colour choices.

Suzuki’s current official listing lists the V-Strom SX at around Rs. 2.02 lakh ex-showroom price point, although the exact price may vary slightly depending on the city.
Suzuki is focusing on refreshing the motorcycle’s visual appeal with this update, rather than mechanically changing it. The company is also offering Suzuki V-Strom SX buyers a Rynox apparel voucher worth Rs. 5,000, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

Suzuki V-Strom SX gets new Matte Grey color
Suzuki has positioned the V-Strom SX as a relatively simple adventure-touring motorcycle in the Indian market. The motorcycle’s styling package remains the same with the addition of a new Matte Grey color, but the new shade gives the bike a comparatively more understated and premium appearance.

Suzuki has not announced any mechanical changes to the suspension, brakes, wheels, chassis, or engine with this update. According to official Suzuki specifications, the motorcycle features a 249cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine, a 6-speed gearbox, and a 19-inch front wheel setup.
The current Suzuki V-Strom SX has a kerb mass of 167kg, while the ground clearance is 205mm and the seat height is 835mm. The motorcycle also features a 12-liter fuel tank.
Same 249cc oil-cooled engine continues
The Suzuki V-Strom SX most important mechanical component, its 249cc engine, remains unchanged despite the new color. This 4-stroke, single-cylinder, oil-cooled SOHC engine uses Suzuki’s Oil Cooling System technology.
The engine produces 26.5 PS of maximum power at 9,300 rpm and 22.2 Nm of peak torque at 7,300 rpm. This engine is paired with a 6-speed constant-mesh gearbox.
Suzuki has also continued its Suzuki Eco Performance technology with the engine, which is designed to maintain a balance between performance and fuel efficiency.
Therefore, it would be more accurate to view the new color as a cosmetic update. Apart from the new shade, customers will not find any difference in the existing mechanical package of the motorcycle.
No major changes to features and hardware

The Suzuki V-Strom SX hardware is designed with adventure touring requirements in mind. The motorcycle features a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear tubeless wheel setup. The front tire size is 100/90-19, while the rear gets a 140/70-17 tire.
The suspension setup includes a front telescopic fork and a rear swingarm-mounted coil spring setup. Braking duties are handled by front and rear disc brakes.
The motorcycle also features an LED headlight and taillight. According to Suzuki’s current specifications, the V-Strom SX includes a 6-speed transmission, electronic fuel injection, and an electric starter as standard.
A Rs. 5,000 Rynox apparel voucher will also be available
Along with the new color update, Suzuki is also offering an additional customer benefit for V-Strom SX buyers. Eligible customers are being given a Rs. 5,000 Rynox apparel voucher.
This offer is subject to applicable terms and conditions, so buyers will need to confirm the exact eligibility and validity of the offer at the dealership at the time of purchase.
Suzuki has previously offered customer-focused benefits with the V-Strom SX. The company’s official listings also list exchange and insurance-related benefits for the model.

Suzuki V-Strom SX rivals
The V-Strom SX’s competition in the Indian adventure-bike segment in the Around Rs. 2 lakh price bracket is quite interesting. The motorcycle directly competes with models like the Hero Xpulse 210 and TVS Apache RTX 300.
The Xpulse 210 offers a comparatively more affordable entry point, while the Apache RTX 300 comes with a newer-generation adventure-oriented package.
Motorcycles like Honda’s XR300L and XR300 Rally may also be on buyers’ radar in this segment, although their character is considerably more off-road focused than the Suzuki V-Strom SX.
The Suzuki V-Strom SX main advantage is its balanced adventure-touring character. Rather than making the motorcycle a completely hardcore off-road machine, Suzuki developed it for a combination of everyday commuting, highway touring, and light trails.
Matte Grey color will increase appeal
The biggest advantage of the new Matte Grey shade is that the Suzuki V-Strom SX may now appeal to buyers who prefer a subtle and premium-looking finish over bright adventure-bike colors.
Due to the lack of mechanical updates, this isn’t a performance upgrade for existing V-Strom SX owners. However, for customers planning to purchase the motorcycle now, the additional color option is definitely useful.
Suzuki has refreshed the V-Strom SX previously with color updates. In September 2025, the company updated the motorcycle with four new color options and refreshed graphics, while the engine and core mechanical package remained unchanged.
Auto India Daily Verdict
The new Matte Grey color of the Suzuki V-Strom SX is a straightforward cosmetic update, but it could be a useful addition for adventure-tourer buyers. The engine, gearbox, suspension, and overall hardware remain unchanged, so the performance and riding character of the existing model remain the same.
At a price point of around Rs. 2.02 lakh, the V-Strom SX is still an interesting option, especially for riders who prefer Japanese reliability, a 249cc oil-cooled engine, and a highway-friendly adventure-touring package.
New Matte Grey color and Rs. With the Rs 5,000 Rynox Apparel voucher, Suzuki has tried to refresh the showroom appeal of the motorcycle without mechanically changing it.
