New Maruti Fronx Facelift Spied: Exterior Design Updates

New Maruti Fronx Facelift test mule showcasing camouflaged front fascia, LED headlamps and redesigned grille.

ADAS hardware may be available along with a revised grille

Spy shots of the front section of the upcoming Maruti Fronx Facelift reveal some changes despite the camouflage. Test mules reveal a redesigned front grille, with a radar sensor-like component in the center. This could hint at the arrival of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in the upcoming model.

If Maruti Suzuki introduces ADAS with this update, the Fronx could become an interesting option in terms of safety technology in its segment. However, the full list of ADAS features has not yet been confirmed.

The headlights and LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) currently appear similar to the current model. The front bumper is heavily camouflaged, so a clear picture of its final design changes is not yet available. The test mule also featured front parking sensors, which are not available on the current Fronx.

Rear Disc Brakes: A Key Update for the Facelift

The overall design from the side profile appears to be very close to the current model. The dual-tone alloy wheels on the test mule also appear similar to the current Fronx. However, the addition of disc brakes on the rear wheels could be a significant mechanical change, as the current model features rear drum brakes.

The rear section is also covered in camouflage, so changes to the tail-lamp design and bumper cannot be clearly identified yet. The facelift is likely to include slightly revised lighting elements and an updated rear bumper.

Maruti Fronx Facelift: Interior May Feature Premium Features

Spy shots haven’t revealed cabin details, but the upcoming facelift could feature some additions to the Baleno’s updated feature package.

Expected updates include front ventilated seats and a Clarion-branded sound system. Leatherette upholstery may also be provided on the front seats for the ventilated seats. Major changes to the dashboard layout are unlikely, but final interior details will be clear after the official reveal.

If these features make it to the production model, the Fronx’s cabin could feel even more premium than before.

Baleno’s 1.2-liter engine expected

New Maruti Fronx Facelift spotted with concealed grille, LED daytime running lights and possible front parking sensors.

The biggest mechanical update in the facelifted Fronx could be in the engine lineup. According to reports and expected changes, the current 1.2-liter K12N four-cylinder petrol engine could be replaced by the Baleno’s new Z12E 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine.

This engine produces 83 hp and 112 Nm of torque in the Baleno. Compared to the current Fronx’s 1.2-liter engine, output is 7 hp and 1 Nm less. This engine is expected to be offered with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options.

A CNG version could also be part of the lineup. The expected CNG setup is expected to produce 70 hp, and the manual could be offered with an AMT transmission option. The new engine is likely to focus on improved fuel efficiency, similar to the Baleno.

1.0-Liter Boosterjet Turbo Engine to Continue

The 1.0-liter three-cylinder Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine is expected to continue for performance-oriented buyers of the Renault. This engine produces 100 hp and 148 Nm of torque in the current model.

New Maruti Fronx Facelift spotted testing with camouflage, dual-tone alloy wheels and covered rear bumper.

Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. No major mechanical changes to this powertrain have been revealed at this time.

New Maruti Fronx Facelift Launch and Expected Price

Maruti Suzuki has not yet confirmed the launch date or pricing of the facelifted Fronx. The current model’s ex-showroom price ranges from ₹6.90 lakh to ₹12.03 lakh. With an updated design, additional safety equipment, and new features, the facelift’s prices are likely to be revised.

Upon launch, it will compete with models like the Toyota Taisor, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, and Citroen C3.

Auto India Daily Verdict

The new Maruti Fronx Facelift update is interesting because the expected changes aren’t limited to exterior styling. Possible ADAS hardware, front parking sensors, and rear disc brakes could improve the safety package, while the Baleno’s Z12E engine could be a significant update for mileage-focused buyers.

But buyers should keep one thing in mind: ADAS, ventilated seats, the CNG-AMT combination, and the engine replacement are currently expected updates, not officially confirmed specifications. Maruti Suzuki’s final announcement will reveal which of these features will reach the production model.
