The September performance comes after Hyundai had already reported strong numbers in August, when it recorded 65,796 total units, including 54,396 domestic sales. With September volumes crossing the 77,000-unit mark, Hyundai has now delivered another major monthly sales milestone.

Hyundai Motor India sold 57,166 units in the domestic market in September 2026, registering a 10.9% YoY increase. The domestic number forms the largest portion of the company’s overall monthly sales.
The growth comes at an important point in the financial year, with the Indian passenger vehicle market entering the festive season. Hyundai’s India portfolio currently includes SUVs such as the Creta, Venue, Exter and Alcazar, alongside models including the Grand i10 Nios, i20, Aura and Verna.
The company had also recorded its highest-ever domestic sales for August at 54,396 units, showing that the September result continues the recent momentum in its India business.
Hyundai Exports Cross 20,000 Units in September
Exports also contributed strongly to Hyundai’s September performance. The company shipped 20,750 units, representing a 10.4% year-on-year increase.
With 57,166 units sold domestically and 20,750 units exported, Hyundai’s combined September volume reached 77,916 units. This is the highest monthly total sales figure recorded by Hyundai Motor India since its inception.
The balanced growth across both domestic sales and exports is notable because the overall increase was not dependent on just one market. Domestic volumes grew 10.9%, while exports increased 10.4%, resulting in 10.8% growth for the combined figure.
Hyundai September Sales Beat Market Estimate
Hyundai September 2026 Sales performance also came in above the market estimate shown in the sales update. The company recorded 77,916 total units against an estimated 73,333 units.
That puts the actual monthly sales roughly 4,583 units above the estimate. The domestic figure of 57,166 units also represents a substantial contribution to the overall result, while exports added another 20,750 units.
The September numbers therefore mark a significant improvement over Hyundai’s August performance, when total sales stood at 65,796 units.
