Along with the SUV segment, the company’s overall automotive business also showed positive performance. Mahindra’s total vehicle sales reached 1,31,109 units in October 2026, a growth of 9% compared to October 2025. This performance was driven by SUVs, commercial vehicles, three-wheelers, and exports.
This result is significant for Mahindra, as its SUV portfolio has been a major growth driver in the Indian market. The company is maintaining its presence in various SUV segments through models such as the Scorpio-N, Scorpio Classic, Thar, XUV700, XUV 3XO, and Bolero.

Mahindra October 2026 Sales: SUV Segment Creates New Record
Mahindra sold 73,338 utility vehicles in the domestic market in October 2026. In October 2025, the company’s domestic SUV sales were 71,624 units, recording year-on-year growth of 2% in the segment.
Including domestic sales and exports, Mahindra’s overall utility vehicle volume stood at 74,904 units. This distinction is important because combining domestic SUV sales and exports gives a more accurate picture of a company’s overall utility vehicle performance.
Dr. Velusamy R, President of the company’s Automotive Business, described October as a landmark month for Mahindra. According to him, the festive season and a refreshed product portfolio supported demand for SUVs, pickups, and three-wheelers.
XUV 3XO ZNG CNG Gets Strong Customer Response

Mahindra also highlighted the XUV 3XO ZNG in its October sales announcement. According to the company, its first CNG vehicle is receiving a strong response from customers.
The performance of the XUV 3XO ZNG could be important for the company’s alternative-fuel portfolio expansion. Demand for CNG vehicles in the Indian market is particularly relevant among customers who prioritize running costs.
For Mahindra, CNG-powered offerings create an additional opportunity, especially in the compact SUV segment. However, the company did not disclose individual sales numbers for the XUV 3XO ZNG in its October announcement. Therefore, its exact contribution to total SUV sales is currently unclear.

In the domestic light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment, sales in the 2-ton to 3.5-ton category increased 5% year-on-year to 28,654 units. In contrast, sales in the less than 2-ton capacity LCV segment fell 4% to 4,383 units.
The three-wheeler segment recorded comparatively stronger growth. Mahindra’s domestic three-wheeler sales, including electric models, increased by 38% to 17,632 units in October 2026. This performance is a positive signal for the company’s passenger mobility and last-mile transportation business.
Mahindra Exports Jump 77% in October 2026
Along with the domestic market, overseas business was also a significant contributor to Mahindra’s October performance. The company’s total automotive exports reached 7,102 units, registering a 77% year-on-year increase.
This growth in exports is an encouraging development for Mahindra’s international business. A notable highlight of October performance was the 77% increase in exports, compared to a moderate 2% growth in domestic SUV sales.
H1 FY27 SUV Sales Grow 17%
Not only was October’s monthly performance positive, Mahindra’s first half of FY2026-27 results were also positive. The company’s cumulative domestic utility vehicle sales increased 17% to 431,480 units during the April-September 2026 period.
In the corresponding period of the previous financial year, Mahindra sold 369,194 domestic utility vehicles. This comparison clearly shows that the company’s SUV business was maintaining healthy growth momentum even before the record October sales.
