The Toyota Glanza is about to receive a major update in India. Following the Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift, Toyota’s premium hatchback is also expected to receive major changes in design, engine, and features.

Reports suggest the 2026 Toyota Glanza Facelift could launch around October 2026.

The Glanza’s mechanical connection to the Maruti Baleno will remain, but Toyota may position the updated model with its own styling and feature package.

2026 Toyota Glanza Facelift Design

The facelifted Glanza is expected to feature changes to the front and rear sections to give the exterior a fresh look. A revised grille, updated bumpers, and minor lighting tweaks could also be available, along with new alloy wheels.

However, reports suggest that the headlights, DRLs, and overall silhouette won’t undergo major changes. Toyota could make the facelift more premium while retaining the existing Glanza’s basic design identity.

New 1.2-Liter Z-Series Petrol Engine

The Glanza facelift’s most significant mechanical update could be the engine.

The current 1.2-liter four-cylinder petrol engine could be replaced by Maruti Suzuki’s 1.2-liter three-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine. This engine is also used in the Swift and the latest Baleno facelift.

Expected output is around 81 hp and 112 Nm. Transmission options could include a 5-speed manual with a 5-speed AMT.

This change could aim to give the Toyota Glanza better efficiency and improved low-speed drivability.

A CNG-AMT Option Could Also Arrive

An interesting addition to the Glanza facelift could be a CNG-AMT combination.

The current Glanza CNG is only available with a manual gearbox. CNG-AMT technology is expected to expand across the Maruti-Toyota lineup after the latest Baleno update. However, the exact launch timing of the Glanza CNG-AMT has not yet been officially confirmed.

If Toyota launches it, it will offer the running-cost advantage of CNG along with automatic convenience.

Level 2 ADAS Could Be the Biggest Upgrade

In terms of features, Level 2 ADAS could be the biggest highlight of the 2026 Toyota Glanza Facelift.

Expected ADAS functions may include:

  • Autonomous Emergency Braking
  • Lane Keep Assist
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Automatic High Beam Assist

Exact variant-wise availability will be confirmed by Toyota at launch.

If this package is included in top variants, the Glanza could significantly strengthen its technological position in the premium hatchback segment.

More Premium Features Expected

Feature upgrades are also expected in the Glanza facelift’s cabin. Reports suggest that Toyota could add features such as ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a Head-Up Display (HUD), TPMS, and a 360-degree camera.

The current Glanza already offers some features like a 9-inch touchscreen, HUD, and a 360-degree camera, so the exact feature distribution in the facelift may change variant-wise.

No Hybrid Engine, Major Focus Petrol + CNG

The hybrid technology angle in the title may sound attractive, but the 2026 Toyota Glanza Facelift is not expected to get a strong-hybrid powertrain at this time.

Toyota’s major update will focus on the new Z-Series petrol engine, a possible CNG-AMT combination, and additional safety/comfort features.

2026 Toyota Glanza Facelift Launch Date

The 2026 Toyota Glanza Facelift is expected to launch in October 2026, although Toyota has not yet officially announced an exact launch date. Some reports also mention a date of October 14, but this should not be taken as a confirmed date.

After launch, the Glanza will compete with premium hatchbacks like the Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz.

Auto India Daily Verdict

The biggest attraction of the 2026 Toyota Glanza Facelift may not be its design, but rather the technology and powertrain updates.

If upgrades like the Z-Series engine, CNG-AMT, and Level 2 ADAS arrive with the expected specifications in the production model, the Glanza could become a strong alternative to the Maruti Baleno in the premium hatchback segment. Toyota will just need to keep pricing competitive.
