Meanwhile, Honda has introduced a compact electric hatchback to the global market, which looks quite interesting due to its retro-inspired design, light weight, and city-focused range.

It’s called the Honda Super-N. Despite its small dimensions, it offers several features that set it apart from typical compact hatchbacks. However, there’s no official confirmation yet regarding its India launch.

Retro Design Combines with Modern Electric Setup
The Honda Super-N’s design is inspired by the company’s older City Turbo II and Japanese kei-car styling. Its boxy silhouette, round LED headlamps, and clean body lines give it a distinct identity.
Due to its compact dimensions, this car could be particularly useful for crowded urban roads and tight parking spaces. While larger SUVs can struggle in narrow streets and small parking areas, a small EV like this will be relatively easy to drive in the city.
Weight Only 1,097kg, Power Up to 95hp
Many electric cars today have become quite heavy due to their large battery packs. In comparison, the Honda Super-N’s kerb weight is reported to be around 1,097kg.
It features an electric motor that generates up to 95hp in Boost Mode. Combined with its low weight and compact dimensions, this power output should provide adequate performance for city driving.
This means Honda has focused not only on efficiency but also on improving the driving experience through lightweight construction.
29.6kWh Battery and 206km WLTP Range
The Honda Super-N features a 29.6kWh battery pack. Its official WLTP range is estimated to be around 206km.
However, Honda claims a range of up to 320 km in city driving conditions. The actual range will depend on factors such as traffic, driving style, temperature, and air conditioning.
This range could be particularly useful for primarily urban users who don’t need to travel long distances daily.
Experience of Fake Gear Shifts and Engine Sounds in an EV
One of the most interesting features of the Honda Super-N is its simulated driving experience.
In Sport Mode, the car can reproduce simulated gear shifts and revving sounds of the 7-speed DSG gearbox and internal-combustion engine. This is intended to make EV driving more engaging.
Electric cars lack a traditional gear-shifting experience due to their instant torque. This approach may appeal to drivers who prefer the driving feel of conventional performance cars.

The Advantage of Magic Seats in a Small Car
Despite its compact exterior dimensions, Honda has also focused on cabin practicality. The Super-N features Honda’s Magic Seats technology.
The rear seats fold in different ways, providing flexibility for storing more cargo in the cabin. According to available information, cargo capacity can exceed 1,000 liters with the seats folded.
The cabin also features a 9-inch infotainment screen and Honda Sensing ADAS technology.
How much does the Honda Super-N cost?
The Honda Super-N’s starting price in the UK market is reported to be £18,995. Its conversion to Indian currency translates to around Rs. 21-22 lakh.
However, this is only a direct currency conversion. If the car ever comes to India, its actual India price could vary significantly depending on local manufacturing, taxation, import duties, and positioning.
Will the Honda Super-N come to India?
Currently, Honda Cars India has not officially confirmed the Super-N’s launch in India.
The company’s Indian EV strategy is currently focused on its large electric SUV portfolio. In such a situation, it would be premature to draw any conclusions about the possibility of a compact EV like the Super-N coming to India.
If Honda localizes this car for India-specific production in the future and manages to price it around Rs. 10-12 lakh, it could compete with affordable electric cars like the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet.
Auto India Daily Verdict
The Honda Super-N’s biggest strengths are its small size, light weight, and city-friendly electric setup. A 29.6 kWh battery, 206 km WLTP range, and up to 95 hp of power make it an interesting package for everyday urban driving. Features like Magic Seats and ADAS further enhance its practicality.
But the biggest question right now is its India launch. At a UK price of around Rs. 21-22 lakh, it will be too expensive for the Indian mass-market EV buyer. The real game changer would be if Honda localizes it in India and offers it at a significantly lower price.
If Honda manages to bring the Super-N to India for around Rs. 10-12 lakh, it could become a serious challenger to the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV in the small EV segment. At the moment, however, there’s no official confirmation of an India launch.
