The latest test mule’s interior clearly shows dual integrated screens. This setup is expected to include a digital instrument cluster and a secondary infotainment screen.

The steering wheel design appears similar to the new-generation Hyundai Venue. The traditional Hyundai logo in the center may be replaced by the four-dot design seen on Hyundai’s latest models.

The cabin is finished in a white and black dual-tone theme. The overall layout of the dashboard is minimalist, with a flat-top design and subtle chrome elements.

Due to camouflage, all interior details are not yet available, but the available visuals suggest a spacious and comfort-focused cabin.

Hyundai Bayon Exterior Design

Regarding the exterior, the test mule of the upcoming SUV appears to follow Hyundai’s latest design philosophy. It could feature an upright front fascia with H-shaped top-mounted LED DRLs.

A slatted grille and trapezoidal headlamp housings are expected in the front profile. The side profile features prominent wheel-arch cladding, sporty alloy wheels, and an angular window design.

The test vehicle has been spotted in a Golden Bronze shade, which appears to be inspired by the bronze-like color of the Hyundai Exterior.

The SUV also features elements like conventional pull-type door handles, functional roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, and a sunroof.

The rear profile features a raked windshield, a chunky bumper, and parking sensors. The overall design of the rear lighting is expected to match the front-end theme.

A 360-Degree Camera Will Also Be Available

Hyundai Bayon Powertrain: Petrol and CNG Options

Speaking of powertrain, Hyundai’s upcoming Bayon-based SUV is likely to be offered with both a petrol and a CNG option.

If a CNG version enters production, it could be Hyundai’s first CNG car longer than 4 meters. To keep boot space practical, the company may use dual-cylinder CNG technology.

The petrol version could use the Creta’s 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces around 115 PS of power and 143.8 Nm of torque.

Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and an IVT automatic gearbox.

Hyundai Bayon India Positioning

Size-wise, the upcoming SUV is expected to be approximately 4.2-4.4 meters in length. With this positioning, it will fill the space between the Venue and Creta in the Hyundai lineup.

Its primary focus could be on buyers who want a slightly compact and affordable SUV than the Creta, but expect a more spacious and premium package than the Venue.

Auto India Daily Verdict

The Hyundai Bayon-based SUV could fill an interesting gap in Hyundai’s Indian portfolio. Its positioning between the Venue and Creta, premium-looking cabin, 360-degree camera, and possible CNG option could make it a strong proposition for family buyers.

The most interesting aspect could be its CNG powertrain. If Hyundai offers both petrol and CNG options at competitive pricing, this SUV could gain a strong advantage against rivals like the Maruti Victoria.

At present, Hyundai has not officially confirmed the India launch, final name, pricing, or complete specifications. Therefore, the powertrain and features should be considered expected details until the launch approaches.
