In August 2026, Mahindra sold 59,257 passenger vehicles in the domestic market, an increase of 19,858 units from 39,399 units sold in August 2025. This resulted in a 50% year-on-year growth in SUV sales for the company.
However, monthly sales declined marginally by around 1.3% compared to 60,048 units sold in July 2026.

Mahindra Sales August 2026: SUV Sales At 59,257 Units
SUVs are the main contributor to Mahindra’s domestic passenger vehicle business. The company’s current portfolio includes models such as the Scorpio-N, Scorpio Classic, Thar, Thar Roxx, XUV 3XO, XUV 7XO, and the Bolero range.
Mahindra maintained strong growth in August with sales of 59,257 SUVs. In August 2025, the company sold 39,399 SUVs.
Performance was also positive on a year-to-date basis. From April to August 2026, Mahindra sold 294,050 passenger vehicles, compared to 241,337 units in the corresponding period last year. On this basis, the company registered 22% growth.
Strong SUV demand ahead of the festive season is a positive sign for Mahindra, as the festive period in India is traditionally important for passenger vehicle sales.
Growth in Commercial Vehicle Sales
The positive trend of Mahindra Sales in August 2026 continued in the commercial vehicle segment.
In the less than 2-tonne LCV segment, the company sold 3,999 units in August 2026, a 37% growth compared to 2,925 units in the previous year.
Sales in the 2–3.5-tonne LCV category stood at 23,416 units, compared to 19,502 units in August 2025. This segment registered 20% YoY growth.
The three-wheeler segment, including electric three-wheelers, also delivered strong performance. Sales in August were 14,922 units, up 42% from 10,527 units last year.
Trucks & Buses Business Grows 47%
Mahindra’s Trucks & Buses business, including SML Mahindra, sold a total of 2,495 units in August 2026. This represents 47% year-on-year growth.

- Mahindra Trucks & Buses: 1,320 units
- SML Mahindra: 1,175 units
- Total: 2,495 units
Mahindra Trucks & Buses sales increased from 859 units to 1,320 units, resulting in 54% YoY growth. SML Mahindra also sold 1,175 units compared to 842 units, a 40% increase.

Mahindra Exports Jump 71%
Exports were another strong highlight of Mahindra Sales August 2026 performance.
The company exported 6,054 vehicles in August, compared to 3,548 units in August 2025. This represents a 71% YoY growth in exports.
Exports reached 26,012 units in the cumulative period of April-August 2026, compared to 15,983 units last year. This means a 63% growth in cumulative exports.
Overall, Mahindra sold 107,648 total vehicles in August 2026. This figure includes SUVs, LCVs below 3.5 tonnes, three-wheelers and exports.
Tractor Sales Also Grow 5%
Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Business also reported positive growth in August.
Domestic tractor sales stood at 27,595 units, compared to 26,201 units in August 2025. This represented 5% YoY growth.
Exports stood at 1,912 tractors, almost equal to last year’s 1,916 units
Combining domestic and export sales, total tractor sales stood at 29,507 units, compared to 28,117 units last year. Overall tractor sales registered 5% growth.
Cumulative tractor sales for the April-August 2026 period were 221,968 units, a 16% growth compared to the corresponding period.
