The Kia PV7 Electric Van has been officially unveiled for the global market. The PV7 is the second model in Kia’s electric PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) portfolio, following the PV5.
It will be offered in Passenger and Cargo versions, with the Passenger version accommodating up to 9 occupants depending on the market, and up to 11 occupants in Korea.

The Cargo version was developed with commercial users in mind and has a maximum payload of up to 1,200 kg depending on the configuration. The PV7 will be launched in Korea and Europe in the second half of 2027, with additional markets and derivatives to be added to the lineup later.

Kia PV7 Electric Van Powertrain: 268hp Electric Motor
The Kia PV7 is offered with two battery options: 71.5kWh and 96.2kWh NCM battery packs. The front-mounted electric motor produces a maximum of 200kW, approximately 268hp, and 420Nm of torque. The standard setup offers front-wheel drive, while an AWD version will be added to the lineup later.
The Long Range Cargo variant has a claimed WLTP range of over 460km with the 96.2kWh battery. This figure is specifically for the Long Range Cargo configuration, so it should not be considered a true range for every PV7 variant.
800V Architecture and Fast Charging
The Kia PV7 Electric Van is based on Kia’s dedicated E-GMP.S architecture and features an 800V electrical architecture. Charging the battery from 10 to 80 percent via a 350kW DC fast charger takes a mid-20-minute range.
Kia has also provided dual charging ports in the PV7. The front side has an AC/DC charging port, while the rear-side AC charging port is optional. This setup is designed to improve charging flexibility for commercial users.

The PV7 is a large electric van, with an overall size significantly larger than the PV5. Its length is 5,350mm, width is 1,995mm and height is 1,990mm, while the wheelbase is 3,500mm.

Available in Passenger and Cargo Versions
The Kia PV7 Passenger was developed with applications such as crew transport, shuttle services, rental operations, tourism, and family use in mind. Seating for up to nine occupants will be available in global markets, while an 11-seat configuration will also be offered in the Korean market.
The Passenger version offers flexible seating arrangements. The 7-seat version, with removable seats, allows the cabin to be configured to suit luggage and other requirements. Flexible seating options are also available in the 9-seat version.
The Cargo version has a maximum payload of up to 1,200 kg, depending on the configuration. The Cargo Long variant offers up to 6.1 cubic meters of cargo space, while the High Roof version offers cargo volume of up to 8.0 cubic meters.
Exterior Design Inspired by PV5
In terms of design, the PV7’s overall look is familiar to the PV5, but its body size is noticeably larger. The front features a short bonnet, slim LED lighting elements, and Kia’s modern PBV design language.
The side profile features powered sliding doors and prominent wheel-arch cladding. The Passenger version’s large glass area and blacked-out pillars give the cabin a more premium look, while the Cargo version prioritizes practical commercial-van styling.
The rear section features a practical loading-focused design with slim wraparound taillights. In addition to the conventional lift-up tailgate, the Cargo version will also have a twin-swing tailgate option.
14.6-Inch Infotainment and Level 2 ADAS in the Cabin
The Kia PV7’s cabin offers modern technology with a practical layout. It features a 14.6-inch infotainment display and the Pleos Connect system, which is based on Android Automotive OS. Kia’s connected ecosystem includes features like app-based functions, navigation, and over-the-air updates.
For safety, the PV7 features seven airbags and Level 2 ADAS technology. The Passenger version also offers 100W USB-C charging ports for rear passengers and rear climate control features.
Kia PV7 India Launch: What to Expect?
Kia has not yet confirmed the PV7’s India launch. The company’s initial rollout will begin in Korea and Europe in the second half of 2027, expanding to additional markets and variants thereafter.
The Kia PV7 Electric Van arrival in India is currently uncertain, but if the company considers it for the Indian market in the future, it could be an interesting proposition in the premium electric commercial vehicle and people-mover segments.

It would be a bit reductive to view the Kia PV7 simply as a conventional electric van. 460km+ WLTP range, 800V architecture, 350kW fast charging, up to 1,200kg payload and flexible Passenger/Cargo configurations make it a very versatile package for commercial mobility.
The most interesting point is its dedicated PBV approach, where Kia is focusing on software, fleet solutions and multiple body configurations along with the vehicle. It will be interesting to see the positioning of the Kia PV7 Electric Van in the electric commercial vehicle market after its global launch in 2027.
