Hyundai’s all-new New Hyundai Tucson 2027 fifth-generation model is now ready for launch in South Korea.
The completely redesigned SUV was revealed globally by Hyundai in August, and now the company has confirmed that Korean-market sales will begin from October 2026. The New Tucson gets larger dimensions, fresh styling, updated powertrains and next-generation connected technology.

This is the first full-generation change for the Tucson after roughly six years. Hyundai has given the SUV a more upright and spacious character than the previous model, while new design elements like vertically oriented H-edge DRLs and slim horizontal center lamp have been added to the front-end. The larger body is also intended to improve cabin space.

New Hyundai Tucson 2027 Gets Petrol and Hybrid Powertrains
The new Hyundai Tucson 2027 will be introduced in the South Korean market with 1.6-liter turbo-petrol and 1.6-liter turbo-petrol hybrid powertrains. The turbo-petrol version will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the hybrid version has an officially quoted fuel efficiency of 17.4 km/l.
Hyundai reports the hybrid system’s combined output as 245 hp. However, these figures are specifically for Korean-market specifications and should not be directly interpreted as future US or other-market Tucson specifications.
New Design Brings a Bigger Tucson
The new Tucson has been developed in accordance with Hyundai’s latest design direction. The vertical H-edge daytime running lights and slim horizontal lighting elements in the front profile give the SUV a clearly different look from the previous-generation model.
Hyundai has also increased the overall body size, with the larger dimensions aimed at providing additional interior space.
The fifth-generation Tucson is therefore more than a cosmetic update. It represents a complete generation change, with styling, packaging, powertrain and software technology all receiving major revisions.
Pleos Connect and Gleo AI
The most interesting update in the cabin is Hyundai’s Pleos Connect next-generation infotainment system. New Tucson is the first model to feature this technology among Hyundai SUVs. Gleo AI, Hyundai Motor Group’s generative-AI agent, is integrated into Pleos Connect.
According to Hyundai, Pleos Connect integrates navigation, entertainment, connected services and vehicle functions into a software-focused interface. The platform supports OTA updates and Gleo AI-based natural-language interaction.

New Hyundai Tucson 2027 Safety Features
The safety technology in the New Hyundai Tucson 2027 has also been upgraded. Hyundai has introduced a backup power system for door unlocking, which helps unlock doors in the event of a collision or a power outage. The company says this technology has been applied to one of its vehicles for the first time.
The SUV also features Memory Reverse Assist, which provides driver assistance by remembering the previously traveled path during reversing.
Will the new Hyundai Tucson 2027 come to India?
An exact launch for India has not yet been confirmed. Hyundai’s global roadmap talks about launching the all-new Tucson and Tucson Hybrid in initial markets from Q4 2026, but India-specific timing and specification have not been officially confirmed.
For now, the Korean-market launch gives us the clearest picture of what the fifth-generation Tucson brings. More market-specific details should emerge as Hyundai expands the model globally.
