Suzuki has unveiled a production-ready prototype of its upcoming small Suzuki Vision e-Sky Electric Car in Japan.
This model is based on the Vision e-Sky concept and is being developed on the company’s new K-EV platform. Interestingly, Suzuki has set a claimed range target of 310 km for this mini EV.

With compact dimensions, a boxy design, and urban-focused practicality, this electric car will enter Japan’s kei-car segment.
If launched in India under the Maruti Suzuki badge in the future, it could directly compete with affordable electric cars like the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet.

Production Design of the Suzuki Vision e-Sky Electric Car
Suzuki’s production prototype Vision e-Sky largely follows the design of the concept. The car features compact dimensions and a tall and upright stance, making it suitable for city driving.
The C-shaped LED DRLs in the front profile are inspired by the concept, although their design has been kept a little more practical in the production model. The headlamps, front bumper, and side cladding have also been updated to suit production requirements.
The concept featured sleek-looking ORVMs, while the production prototype features comparatively larger conventional rearview mirrors. The alloy wheel design has also been changed.
The side profile retains a prominent shoulder line and a large glass area. The prototype features a black roof finish, while the concept model was showcased with a white roof.
Quite Compact in Dimensions
The Suzuki Vision e-Sky-based electric car measures 3,395 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width, and 1,625 mm in height. Its wheelbase is 2,460 mm.
These dimensions make it a smaller electric car than the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso. The compact size will be a key advantage in city traffic and tight parking spaces.
Despite its small size, Suzuki is focusing on keeping its cabin modern and feature-rich. Expected features could include equipment such as a digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 360-degree camera.
Claimed Range of 310 Km
The most important highlight of the Suzuki Vision e-Sky prototype is its claimed range of 310 km. The company has not yet officially disclosed the battery pack’s capacity, but reports suggest the possibility of a battery pack of approximately 26 kWh.
Suzuki developed this EV with lightweight construction and energy efficiency in mind. The combination of compact dimensions and low weight could help the company achieve a practical driving range.
If this model arrives in India with similar specifications, its range figure could be quite important for urban buyers.

If launched in India, the Tata Tiago EV is currently available with 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh battery options, with the larger battery version having a claimed range of up to 285 km. Meanwhile, the MG Comet EV features a 17.3 kWh battery pack and a claimed range of 230 km.
In comparison, the Suzuki’s claimed range of 310 km could give it a strong position on paper. However, final specifications, battery capacity, pricing, and India-spec range will only be confirmed at launch.

After Japan, Eyes on Europe and India
Suzuki is planning to introduce its production version in European markets in addition to Japan. The company has developed it on its newly developed K-EV platform, an architecture specifically designed for electric vehicles.
The advantages of a dedicated EV platform can be found in cabin packaging and available interior space. Despite the compact exterior dimensions, Suzuki is focusing on making the cabin practical.
The company has not yet announced an official launch timeline for India. If Maruti Suzuki introduces it in the Indian market, it may try to keep its pricing competitive through local manufacturing and high localization.
