Toyota Innova Hycross Facelift: Front Design Gets Major Changes

2027 Toyota Innova Hycross Facelift front bumper and grille design revealed in leaked patent images.

The facelifted Innova Hycross will see the most significant changes in its front section. According to the design patent, the MPV could get an upright front fascia, giving it a more planted and SUV-like appearance compared to the current model.

The front could feature elements like a black upper trim, a diamond-style honeycomb grille, polygonal fog lamp housings, and a slatted lower grille. A swept-back design is expected for the headlamps, and a similar-shaped lighting setup has also been spotted on test mules.

Interestingly, the basic bonnet design could largely be carried forward, while the bumper and grille area will receive major changes.

Minor Changes in the Side Profile

The Innova Hycross facelift is expected to continue the same overall silhouette as the current model. Elements like squared wheel arches, chrome-finished conventional door handles, body-colored ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, and prominent door creases are likely to continue.

The alloy wheels seen on test mules also appear to be quite similar to the current model’s design. Therefore, the side profile is likely to receive subtle cosmetic updates rather than major changes.

Rear Design Also Gets Subtle Updates

The basic design of the facelifted Innova Hycross is expected to remain largely unchanged in the rear section. The overall shape of the taillights is expected to be carried forward, but the LED lighting signatures may be refreshed.

Minor styling changes are also expected in the rear bumper. Toyota may also introduce some new color options with the facelift.

Interior Gets Bigger Touchscreen

Some significant updates are expected inside the cabin as well. Test mules have spotted a larger touchscreen infotainment system.

Higher variants of the current Innova Hycross come with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, which could be replaced by a 12-inch or larger display with the facelift.

Updates are also expected in connectivity features, a 360-degree camera system, and a digital instrument cluster. Toyota may also refresh the upholstery, cabin materials, and overall fit-and-finish.

Engine Options Remain Unchanged

The Toyota Innova Hycross facelift is expected to retain existing powertrain options.

Petrol variants are powered by a 2.0-liter TNGA four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 173 hp and 204 Nm. This engine is paired with a CVT gearbox.

Hybrid variants combine the same 2.0-liter petrol engine with an electric motor and a Ni-MH battery pack. The hybrid system’s combined output is 183.7 hp, while the engine produces 188 Nm and the electric motor 206 Nm of torque.

The hybrid version offers Eco, Normal, and Power driving modes along with an EV mode, while the transmission is an e-CVT.

Innova Hycross Hybrid Continues Its Strong Run

The Innova Hycross currently maintains a strong position in India’s hybrid car segment. With a reported market share of close to 50 percent, the facelift will play an important role in Toyota maintaining its position.

However, competition is also gradually intensifying. Models like the upcoming Kia Sorento Hybrid and the newly launched MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV could offer buyers additional options in the premium electrified MPV/SUV space.

Toyota Innova Hycross Facelift: What To Expect

Overall, the most noticeable transformation in the 2027 Toyota Innova Hycross facelift will be the front-end. A new grille, upright fascia, revised lighting, and SUV-inspired styling could give it a more aggressive look than the current model.

A bigger touchscreen and updated technology are expected in the interior, while the existing petrol and hybrid powertrains are likely to continue. If Toyota keeps pricing competitive, the facelifted Innova Hycross could further strengthen its strong position.
