TVS vs Honda vs Hero: The Big August Story

The biggest takeaway from August 2026 Two-Wheeler Sales is clearly TVS’s rise to the No. 1 position.

TVS dispatched approximately 12,275 units more than Honda, while Hero MotoCorp led by approximately 23,039 units.

TVS’s growth rate was also considerably stronger than Honda and Hero. Electric two-wheeler sales and exports further strengthened the company’s overall performance.

For Hero, strong growth in Vida EV sales is a positive sign, but weaker exports and comparatively slower overall growth prevented the company from retaining the top spot.

What This Means Ahead Of The Festive Season

August numbers highlight the strong momentum in the two-wheeler market ahead of the festive season. Manufacturers traditionally focus on inventory build-up and demand preparation during this period.

This performance is particularly significant for TVS because the company has managed to combine strong domestic sales with rapid EV growth and higher exports.

Bajaj is also in a strong position with 30 percent growth, although its large export contribution remains a major part of the overall number.
