Kia Carnival hybrid bookings have officially opened in India. Kia has started pre-bookings for the upcoming strong-hybrid version, and its launch is expected soon.
The new hybrid version is based on the existing Limousine+ trim, which is currently available with the Carnival’s diesel powertrain.

The Kia Carnival hybrid will feature a 1.6-liter turbo-petrol engine borrowed from the Sorento and a more powerful electric motor. This setup is paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, while the existing 2.2-liter diesel engine will also continue in the lineup.

Kia Carnival Hybrid Powertrain
The main highlight of the Kia Carnival hybrid is its strong-hybrid powertrain. It features a 1.6-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 180 hp and 265 Nm. The electric motor produces 73.4 hp and 304 Nm.
The electric motor has been made more powerful than the Sorento hybrid’s setup, giving the Carnival additional performance. The hybrid powertrain will be offered with a 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox.
Meanwhile, the Carnival’s existing 2.2-liter diesel engine produces 193 hp and will continue with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
No Major Changes in Carnival Hybrid Design
In terms of design, the hybrid version is largely identical to the diesel Carnival. The most noticeable difference on the exterior is the HEV badge, which will be placed on the tailgate.
The MPV continues to feature Kia’s signature tiger-face grille, vertically stacked LED headlights with DRLs, powered sliding doors, 18-inch alloy wheels, and connected LED taillights.
Overall, Kia has focused on the powertrain and select feature updates rather than making the hybrid version visually distinct.

Some New Features Will Be Found in the Cabin
The interior layout will remain the same as the diesel version. Premium features such as dual 12.3-inch displays, 3-zone climate control, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system will continue in the Carnival Hybrid.
The Hybrid version will also receive some additional features such as a virtual engine sound system and retractable, height-adjustable seat-back tables with wireless phone chargers.
The safety package includes 8 airbags, Level 2 ADAS, front and rear disc brakes, and a 360-degree camera.
Kia Carnival Hybrid Price
Kia has not yet announced the official price of the Carnival Hybrid. The current ex-showroom price of the Carnival Limousine+ diesel is ₹59.65 lakh, and the hybrid version may come with a premium on top.
Final pricing and complete variant details are expected to be revealed at launch.
