Hyundai’s most immediate new product will be an all-new mid-size SUV, which the company will introduce in India around the festive season. This model has the internal codename BC4i and will be based on architecture related to the platform of the overseas-market Bayon.

This SUV is expected to be around 4.18 meters in length, positioning it below the current Creta. Hyundai’s objective is to create a fresh space below the Creta with this model.

Importantly, simply calling it the Hyundai Bayon is not technically correct yet. Latest reports suggest it is a Bayon-based SUV, but the final name of the India-spec model has not been officially confirmed.

Reports of petrol and CNG options have surfaced regarding the powertrain, but Hyundai has not yet officially disclosed complete engine specifications.

  • Expected launch: Festive season 2026
  • Expected positioning: Below the Creta
  • Platform: Bayon-derived
  • Expected powertrain: Petrol, CNG
  • Status: Hyundai-confirmed new SUV; final name/specs awaited

Hyundai India’s next major launch will be a locally designed and manufactured compact electric SUV. This model is codenamed HE1i and has been developed specifically for India.

Initially, Hyundai had announced the launch of this EV by the end of FY2026-27, but Hyundai India MD & CEO Tarun Garg later indicated that its debut could happen by the end of 2026.

The HE1i will be based on the E-GMP (K) architecture, which is also used in the overseas Hyundai Inster. Its production in India will take place at the Sriperumbudur plant in Tamil Nadu.

Hyundai has confirmed that the SUV will be offered in standard-range and long-range versions. The exact battery capacity and range figures have not yet been officially revealed.

The company will position it against models like the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, and Kia Syros EV. Level 2 assisted driving technology and a next-generation infotainment system are also among the confirmed highlights.

  • Expected launch: End-2026
  • Codename: HE1i
  • Powertrain: Electric
  • Platform: E-GMP (K)
  • Versions: Standard Range + Long Range
  • Production: India
  • Status: Officially confirmed

Hyundai’s most important upcoming launches include the third-generation Creta. The next generation, succeeding the current Creta, will be introduced in India in 2027. Current estimates place the launch around March 2027, although Hyundai has not announced an exact launch date.

The new Creta is expected to have a completely updated exterior design and a significantly revamped cabin. Hyundai may also introduce its latest technology ecosystem in the next-generation model.

The most interesting update could be a hybrid powertrain. Hyundai India has confirmed plans for multiple hybrid models for India, and the next-generation Creta is included among the potential hybrid candidates.

However, exact hybrid specifications, battery size, and fuel-efficiency figures have not yet been officially confirmed.

  • Expected launch: 2027
  • Generation: Third-generation
  • Powertrain: Petrol; hybrid expected
  • Expected price: Around Rs 11 lakh onwards, estimates
  • Status: India launch confirmed; specifications awaited

Hyundai’s next major update in the premium hatchback segment will be the new-generation i20. Details and images of the fourth-generation i20 have surfaced globally, and the India launch is currently expected for 2027.

The new i20 is expected to feature Hyundai’s latest design language and updated cabin technology. Current information suggests that the petrol powertrain may continue, while electrification could also play a role in the future, given Hyundai’s broader India hybrid strategy. However, an India-spec hybrid setup should not be taken as a confirmed fact just yet.

Autocar India currently lists the expected price of the new i20 at Rs 8 lakh-14 lakh and a launch timeline of 2027.

  • Expected launch: 2027
  • Body Style: Premium hatchback
  • Expected price: Rs 8 lakh-14 lakh
  • Powertrain: Petrol; future electrification possible
  • Status: Expected for India

5. New Hyundai i10 – 2027

The next-generation i10 in Hyundai’s small-car range is also in the pipeline. Current available launch trackers list it as an expected model in India around late 2027.

However, there’s an important distinction here: Hyundai India has not yet officially confirmed the new i10’s India launch. Therefore, it cannot be considered a confirmed launch like the Creta, HE1i, or new mid-size SUV.

If launched in India, the new i10 will modernize Hyundai’s entry-level hatchback portfolio. But reliable official details regarding India-spec engine, dimensions, features and pricing are not available yet.

  • Expected launch: Late 2027
  • Body Style: Sedan
  • Expected price: Around Rs 5.8 lakh-8.5 lakh, estimates
  • Status: Expected, not officially confirmed for India

Hyundai’s India Strategy Will Now Be More Aggressive

Upcoming Hyundai Cars launches shouldn’t be viewed solely as individual model updates. The company is simultaneously targeting the SUV, EV, and hybrid segments in India.

First, a new mid-size SUV and compact EV will hit the market, followed by a major upgrade to Hyundai’s core SUV portfolio. Hatchbacks like the i20 and i10 will refresh the brand’s existing passenger-car base.

Hyundai has announced a roadmap to introduce 26 new products/variants in India by FY2030, so this pipeline is set to expand further.

Auto India Daily Verdict

The most exciting thing about Upcoming Hyundai Cars strategy is that the company isn’t relying solely on facelifts and routine updates. Launches of new SUVs and India-specific EVs will begin as early as the end of 2026.

If you’re planning to buy a Hyundai in 2026, it might be interesting to wait for the new mid-size SUV and compact EV. And if you’re a Creta buyer, the next-gen Creta could be the most important Hyundai launch of 2027.

Note: This list clearly separates confirmed launches and expected models. Where Hyundai has not provided official confirmation, the estimated timeline/specifications are not presented as confirmed fact.
