The company recorded 15% year-on-year growth in overall auto sales, while its SUV sales also maintained double-digit growth during the month.

According to Mahindra, domestic SUV sales stood at 64,092 units in September 2026, registering a 14% YoY increase. The company also highlighted that it has crossed the milestone of 1 lakh billing of its Electric Origin SUVs since their launch.

Mahindra September 2026 Sales Cross 1.14 Lakh Units
Mahindra’s overall auto sales stood at 1,14,874 vehicles in September 2026, compared with the corresponding period last year. Including exports, the company reported a 15% YoY growth in total vehicle sales.
The SUV portfolio remained one of the key contributors to this performance. Mahindra sold 64,092 SUVs in the domestic market, up 14% compared with September 2025.
The company has continued to see strong demand across its SUV portfolio, which includes models such as the Scorpio-N, XUV700, Thar, Thar ROXX, XUV 3XO and newer electric SUVs.
Commercial Vehicle Sales Also Grow 14%
Mahindra’s commercial vehicle business also recorded positive growth during September. Domestic commercial vehicle sales stood at 30,420 units, representing a 14% year-on-year increase.
The performance comes as Mahindra continues to expand its presence across multiple vehicle segments. Its commercial vehicle range includes light commercial vehicles as well as heavier trucks and buses.
The company’s Trucks & Buses business also recorded strong growth during the month, with industry reports putting the segment’s sales growth at 53% YoY.

Electric Origin SUVs Cross 1 Lakh Billing Milestone
One of the key highlights from Mahindra’s September performance was the milestone achieved by its Electric Origin SUV portfolio.
Dr. Velusamy R, President, Automotive Business, Mahindra & Mahindra, said the company had crossed 1 lakh billing of its Electric Origin SUVs since launch.
The Electric Origin range includes Mahindra’s new-generation electric SUVs developed around its INGLO platform. The company has been expanding its EV portfolio as part of its broader strategy to offer electric alternatives alongside its internal-combustion SUVs.
The milestone also comes at a time when Mahindra is increasing its focus on premium electric SUVs in the Indian market.
Mahindra SUV Demand Remains Strong

The September numbers show that Mahindra’s SUV business continued to maintain its growth momentum. Domestic SUV sales of 64,092 units were up 14% YoY, while overall vehicle sales grew at a faster 15% rate.
Mahindra’s recent product activity has also expanded its SUV portfolio across different price points. The company launched the Thar OG in September, while continuing to strengthen the XUV 3XO range and its electric SUV portfolio. Mahindra’s official newsroom lists the Thar OG launch on September 22 and the XUV 3XO REVX EDGE expansion earlier in the month.
